This week we have a parent meeting on Wednesday night - 7-8.30pm in the staffroom. I will be talking about overexcitabilities (sensitivities or intensities) that are often, but not always, part of life with a gifted child. All welcome - no charge.
So I will look a little at this with the kids this week as well. It helps if they are aware that sometimes their intense feelings, thoughts and actions are 'normal'. If the children have some coping mechanisms to deal with these intensities then they can cope better if the intensities / sensitivities are having a negative impact on their life.
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvellous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day." Albert Einstein
